Delegate Morrissey's sits on the following Committees:
Health, Welfare, and Institutions (HWI)
HWI considers legislations concerning persons with disabilities (other than learning disabilities), public health, health professions, public buildings, mental health, and mental disabilities. The committee also has jurisdiction over matters relating to correctional and penal institutions; drugs; social services and welfare; and the regulations of health professionals and associated occupations. HWI meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 A.M. during session.
Education
Education considers matters of public education, including K-12, home schooling, charter schools, community colleges, and institutions of higher education. The committee also considers matters affecting teachers and education-related occupations, other than those relating to the expenditure of state funds (salaries). Education meets Mondays at 9:00 A.M. and Wednesdays at 8:30 A.M. during session.
